An Eclipse Theatre Company and Royal Exchange Theatre co-production

Part of Bristol Old Vic's Studio Walkabout Season

"We walk. Though we are written into the landscape you don't see us. We walked England before the English."

Thomas, Matthew and Richard walk.

They walk the first Saturday of every month. Walking and talking. But this walk...

Maybe they should have cancelled, but they needed the walk today. Out in the Peaks, they find themselves forced to walk backwards through two thousand years before they can move forwards.

Dedicated to the Black Men's Walking Group, Black Men Walking is the first national tour born from Revolution Mix - a three-year movement that will spearhead the largest ever national delivery of Black British stories.

In summer 2016 we began redevelopment works to transform our King Street entrance into a welcoming, vibrant space and build a brand new Studio theatre designed by award-winning architects Haworth Tompkins. During this time, it will be business as usual in the Theatre with our brilliant programme on offer, and we're taking our Studio programme on Walkabout around Bristol!

Black Men Walking continues our Studio Walkabout Season, inspired by the city-wide partnerships created during the Theatre's first phase of refurbishment in 2011 which saw us stage productions in other venues including Coram Boy with our friends at Colston Hall.

Please note the venue of this show, and we hope you will join us as we stretch our legs across the city and continue to enjoy our brilliant studio programme.
